Brand preservation over volume: how a luxury brand should enter Israel

Dana Zilberstein · 2026-10-05

I have brought more than 20 international brands into the Israeli market, and the question I hear most from founders is not about regulation or shipping. It is a quieter one: will my brand still be my brand when it gets there?

It is the right question. Most of the damage a brand suffers in a new market does not come from a failed launch. It comes from a launch that technically worked, where the product cleared customs, reached the shelves and sold, and the brand lost its standing along the way.

Two bad options

For a long time, the best beauty and wellness brands had two ways to think about Israel. They could stay out, because the market looked too small to justify the effort. Or they could enter through a volume distributor, who measures success by units moved and treats a brand as one more line item.

For a founder whose brand is their life's work, both are a loss. Staying out leaves a market of discerning customers to someone else. Entering through volume spends the one thing that took years to build.

What the third door looks like

Fine Rituals exists to give brands a third option. We own the entire entry under one roof, so the brand is never handed from one party to the next.

Why scarcity is a strategy

Scarcity can sound like a constraint. For a prestige brand it is the point. When a brand is available everywhere, it stops being something a customer seeks out. When it sits in the right boutique or clinic, next to the right peers, it keeps the meaning it has at home.

That is why we protect the brand first and never chase volume. It is also why the brands we work with can grow in Israel without having to rebuild their image later.

Where we are going

Israel is the first market. Asia and the Middle East come next, with the same model and the same promise: prestige intact, at regional scale.

If you are a founder or an export lead thinking about this region, I would be glad to hear about your brand. You can find out more about how we work at fine-rituals.com.
